What is the Dental Implant?
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge.
Dental implants are made up of titanium and other materials that are compatible with the human body.
They are posts that are surgically placed in the upper or lower jaw, where they function as a sturdy anchor for replacement teeth.

How does it make us healthy?
You are designed by nature to live efficiently till 100years,so are your teeth. But due to lack of proper dental care, once the teeth are
lost, they must be replaced by dental implants.Dental implant can improve your mastication, your ability to eat good quality
of food items like walnuts, almonds, nuts, fibres and fruits. As your age advances, the body needs more micronutrient to remain youthful.
So eating ideal food is must.If you compromise nutrition due to not having enough teeth, you are compromising your health.

Don’t compromise on your health and get implants done by an experienced implantologist.
What is the procedure of dental implant placement?
After clinical examination of the jaw bone, we also confirm the available jaw bone by CBCT scan or X-rays .Under local anesthesia,
we administer very small cut in the gums.A painless drill sequence leads to the final drill position and then we place the dental implants in the bone.
Gums are placed back in the same position. One implant placement can be done in 45mins.
Are implants safe and how long will they last?
Implants are a safe, well-established, tried-and-tested treatment. It's probably true to say that implants, much like natural teeth,
will last for as long as you care for them.
How well you look after your implants - and whether you go for your regular maintenance appointments -
will have the biggest impact on how long they will last.
Can implants always be used to replace missing teeth?
It depends on the condition of the bone in your jaw. We will arrange for a number of special tests to find out the amount of bone still there.
If there is not enough, or if it isn't healthy enough, it may not be possible to place implants without grafting bone into the area first.
Do Implants hurt?
Placing an implant is often easier than taking a tooth out and is usually done using a simple local anaesthetic.
You will not feel any pain at the time, but just like after an extraction, you may feel some discomfort during the week after the surgery.
General anesthetics are rarely used for implants and are generally only used for very complicated cases.
How long does the treatment take?
Usually the permanent crowns are fitted 3 to 4 months after the implants are put in.
Some teeth can now even be fitted at the same time as the implants, these are called ‘immediate implants'.
What happens next?
After your implants have been placed, the bone in your jaw needs to grow onto them and integrate to them.
This usually takes 2-4 months. Sometimes the implants may be stable enough
when they are fitted for the false teeth to be attached sooner than this.
If you are having one, two or three teeth replaced, you may have a temporary denture in the meantime.
If you have full dentures, you can keep wearing these while your implants are healing. Your dentures will need altering,
to fit properly after the surgery, and a ‘healing cap' will usually be placed onto the implant site to protect it.
Are the implant teeth difficult to clean?
Implant teeth are not difficult to clean. But aftercare is important if you are going to have a long-lasting, successful implant.Detailed
advice will be given to you on how to look after your implants. Cleaning around the teeth attached to the implants is no more difficult than
cleaning natural teeth. However, there may be areas that are difficult to reach and you'll be shown methods to help you.
Do I have an implant for each missing tooth?
If you have a single tooth missing, you will need an implant to support it. If you have a number of teeth missing,
and these are next to each other, you could still have one implant for each tooth. Or you may find that two or more implants
may be able to support more than one tooth each.
Implant Surgery Follow-up and Aftercare
For five to seven days after surgery, your diet should be restricted to soft foods. If stitches are present,
they may need to be removed after around 7-8 days.If provisional restorations were placed along with the dental implant,
it will be important to clean them as you would your natural teeth to ensure the best possible healing and fusing of the implant.
Failure to floss and brush is a leading cause of implant failure, and infection can occur if the implant and surrounding areas are not cleaned properly.
Smoking also is attributed to high failure rates with dental implants and should be avoided following implant procedures.
