Orthodontic braces are commonly used for correcting smile and crooked teeth. Commonly asked question is whether I will be able to eat with the braces or not. The more important question is how will I clean or brush my teeth? There are specific toothbrushes available for braces, be it ceramic or metal. We at Smilex give demonstration once the braces are fitted. These are different brushes than normal and are available at the chemist. Apart from orthodontic brush, one might have to use an interdental toothbrush to clean beneath the wire or around the braces. Regular use of mouthwash is also recommended. After every meal or snack one should gargle thoroughly so as no food is stuck around the braces and in between the teeth. Morning and before going to bed, brushing is a must for all Braces patients.
